PRESENTACIÓN AYER EN SOCIEDAD Y A LOS MEDIOS DE LA EXPOSICIÓN (17/1172017). HARRY POTTER: THE EXHIBITION IS COMING TO MADRID. STARTING NOVEMBER 18 AT IFEMA

This autumn, Harry PotterTM fans in Spain will have the chance to experience more from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World when Harry Potter: The Exhibition comes to Madrid for the first time. The exhibition will be hosted at Pavilion 1 of IFEMA, starting November 18 for a limited time of only 10 weeks. Madrid will be the only Spanish city within the exhibition’s European tour. Tickets are on sale now at www.harrypotterexhibition.es and ticketea.com.
Since its world premiere in Chicago, the traveling exhibition has received more than 4 million visitors and included stops in Boston, Toronto, Seattle, New York, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Paris, Shanghai, Brussels and The Netherlands.

In partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, GES created the 1,400-square-meter experiential exhibition, where visitors can enjoy dramatic displays inspired by the Harry Potter film sets and see the amazing craftsmanship behind authentic costumes, props and creatures from the films. Sold Out and Encore are partnering with GES to present the exhibition in Madrid.
“Harry Potter: The Exhibition has been an enormous success all around the world. My granddaughter insisted we visit the exhibition in New York and I was struck by the beautiful scenery and amazing artifacts. I knew then I had to find a way to bring it to European fans and I am delighted to now be part of the team presenting it in Spain,” says Pascal Bernardin of Encore. “We are very proud to present Harry Potter: The Exhibition for the first time in Spain. We are sure of the magnificent welcome the exhibition will have in Madrid,” added Rafael Giménez of Sold Out.

“We are thrilled to continue the European tour of Harry Potter: The Exhibition in the beautiful city of Madrid,” said Eddie Newquist, chief creative officer for GES. “We hope everyone will have a chance to visit this expertly curated exhibition, allowing them to relive their favorite moments from the films.”
From the moment guests enter Harry Potter: The Exhibition they are immediately drawn into the world of Harry Potter. Guests are greeted by an exhibit host who sorts several lucky fans into one of the HogwartsTM houses and then leads them into the exhibition where their journey to favorite scenes from the Harry Potter films begins. The exhibition features settings from the films’ most popular locations—including the GryffindorTM common room and dormitory; classrooms like Potions and Herbology; and the Forbidden Forest—which are filled with thousands of authentic props, costumes, and creatures used in the filming of the iconic series.

“Harry Potter: The Exhibition continues to be a record-breaking success, and we are thrilled to bring this experience, together with our partners, to Spain for the first time,” said Peter van Roden, senior vice president, global themed entertainment, Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
In addition to the beautiful environments and displays, there are several interactive elements. Guests can enter the QuidditchTM area and toss a Quaffle ball, pull their own Mandrake in the Herbology classroom vignette, and even tour a re-creation of Hagrid’s hut and sit in his giant-sized armchair.
The exhibition in Madrid will be open from November 18 through January 28. Timed-entry tickets are required, and the last entry will be one hour before the closing of the exhibition. Tickets to the exhibition are on sale at www.harrypotterexhibition.es. Please check the website for opening dates and hours.
An exclusive audio tour is also available, providing behind-the-scenes insight into the making of the Harry Potter films, with commentary from the producers, prop designers, costume designers and creature designers.
